Can a chiropractor help with headaches and migraines?
It depends on what is causing them. Some headaches start in the neck or are made worse by it. Tight muscles, stiff joints and the way you hold your head at a desk or phone can all play a part.
When the neck is part of the cause, spinal adjustments, exercises and posture changes are often used to help. Some headaches need a medical doctor instead. At Neu Life Chiropractic in Tomball, Dr. Rob Neuenschwander checks your neck and spine with an exam and X-rays before he treats you.
What kinds of headaches do we see?
Tension headaches feel like a tight band or pressure around your head. They often come with tight neck and shoulder muscles.
Neck headaches start in the neck and spread to the back of the head, the temple or behind the eye. Migraines are often a strong, throbbing pain on one side. They can come with an upset stomach or a strong dislike of light and sound.
What can trigger a headache from your neck?
Long hours looking down at a screen or phone. Sitting at a desk with your head pushed forward. Poor sleep position, stress and old neck injuries, like a car accident.
Dr. Rob looks at how your neck moves and how it lines up on X-rays. That helps him see if your neck is part of the problem, or if you should see a medical doctor first.
How does Neu Life treat headaches?
Your plan depends on what your exam and X-rays show. It may include:
Spinal adjustments
Gentle, precise adjustments help the joints in your neck and upper back move better. More on adjustments.
Corrective care
Dr. Rob is trained in Chiropractic BioPhysics, a corrective care method. He uses your X-rays to plan care for the posture of your neck.
Exercises
Exercises you do after your adjustment and at home help your neck get stronger and hold the change.
Daily habits
Dr. Rob shows you how to set up your desk, phone and pillow so your neck is not under strain all day.
How do my first two visits work?
Visit 1: You fill out your paperwork. Dr. Rob talks with you one on one and does an exam. We take digital X-rays of your spine in our office.
Visit 2: Dr. Rob walks you through your X-rays and exam results. He tells you what he found and what he recommends. If you choose to start care, you get your first treatment and your plan.
We use two visits so we find the cause first, then treat it.
What does it cost to start?
As of October 2026, new patients can ask about our $65 new patient offer. Our team will tell you what it covers when you book. We are out of network, so you pay us at the visit. Our services are eligible for insurance reimbursement, so you can ask your plan about paying you back.

"Dr. Rob was able to find the issue and we have been correcting it, I haven’t had a single headache since I started my treatment with him."
"They saved me from having migraines every day and I can now live my normal life again!"
When should I go to the ER instead?
Call 911 or go to the emergency room if you get a sudden, severe headache that feels like the worst of your life. Go if your headache comes with weakness or numbness on one side, trouble speaking, confusion or loss of vision. Go if it comes with a fever and a stiff neck, or after a blow to the head. These signs need care right away.
