Can a chiropractor help my neck pain?
It depends on the cause. Most neck pain comes from the joints, discs and muscles of your neck. Stiff joints, a strained muscle, a worn or bulging disc, or posture can all play a part.
Spinal adjustments and exercises are often used for this kind of neck pain. Some cases need a medical doctor instead. At Neu Life Chiropractic in Tomball, Dr. Rob Neuenschwander checks your neck with an exam and X-rays before he treats you.
What causes neck pain?
Long hours looking down at a phone or a screen put more load on your neck. So do long drives, sleeping in an odd position and stress held in your shoulders.
A sudden jolt, like a car crash or a fall, can strain your neck too. If a crash started your pain, see our page on car accident injury care.
When does neck pain need a closer look?
Pain that runs into your shoulder, arm or hand can mean a nerve is under pressure. So can numbness or tingling in your fingers. A disc in your neck can cause this. Read more on herniated disc treatment.
Neck pain and headaches often show up together. If you have both, see our page on headache and migraine treatment. Dr. Rob checks for both at your first visit.
How does Neu Life treat neck pain?
Your plan depends on what your exam and X-rays show. It may include:
Spinal adjustments
Gentle, precise adjustments help the joints in your neck and upper back move better. More on adjustments.
Corrective care
Dr. Rob is trained in Chiropractic BioPhysics, a corrective care method. He uses your X-rays to plan care for the posture of your neck.
Exercises
Exercises you do after your adjustment and at home help your neck get stronger and hold the change.
Daily habits
Dr. Rob shows you how to set up your desk, phone and pillow so your neck is not under strain all day.
How do my first two visits work?
Visit 1: You fill out your paperwork. Dr. Rob talks with you one on one and does an exam. We take digital X-rays of your spine in our office.
Visit 2: Dr. Rob walks you through your X-rays and exam results. He tells you what he found and what he recommends. If you choose to start care, you get your first treatment and your plan.
We use two visits so we find the cause first, then treat it.
What does it cost to start?
As of October 2026, new patients can ask about our $65 new patient offer. Our team will tell you what it covers when you book. We are out of network, so you pay us at the visit. Our services are eligible for insurance reimbursement, so you can ask your plan about paying you back.

"Dr. Rob saved me! Pinched nerve in my neck was debilitating, pain all over, fingers going numb, it was brutal! I started feeling better right away, and now contine weekly adjustments, to fix the problem for good!"
"They do a great job adjusting my back and my neck has never felt better. I wish I would of found them earlier."
When should I go to the ER instead?
Call 911 or go to the emergency room if your neck pain starts after a bad car crash, a fall or a hard hit to the head. Go if it comes with a fever and a stiff neck, or a sudden, severe headache. Go if you get new weakness in your arms or legs, trouble walking, or lose control of your bladder or bowels. Go if neck or jaw pain comes with chest pain or shortness of breath. These signs need care right away.
