Can I get hip decompression in Tomball, TX?

Yes. Neu Life Chiropractic offers hip decompression at our office in Tomball. It is a gentle, non-surgical way to ease pressure on the hip joint. There are no needles and no surgery.

It is not right for every hip. Dr. Rob Neuenschwander examines you first and tells you if you are a candidate. If your hip needs an orthopedic doctor instead, he will tell you that.

What are the signs your hip may need help?

Many people feel an ache in the hip, the side of the thigh or the groin. It may be worse when you walk, climb stairs, sit for a long time or lie on that side at night. Some feel stiff when they first stand up.

Hip pain does not always start in the hip. A problem in the low back can send pain into the hip and leg. Sciatica is one example. That is why Dr. Rob checks your hip and your low back together.

What is hip decompression?

Decompression means easing pressure. For the hip, the goal is to give the joint a little more room. It is a gentle, non-surgical approach, and you do not need to prepare for it.

Dr. Rob decides what is right for your hip after your exam. We do not promise a result. Many patients want to try a non-surgical option first, and that is a fair place to start.

What does Dr. Rob check for?

Your exam decides your plan. These are the things he looks at:

Where the pain starts

He checks if the pain starts in the hip or comes from the low back or pelvis.

How the joint moves

He looks at how your hip bends, turns and takes your weight.

Past injuries

Falls, sports injuries and long hours of sitting can leave a hip sore.

Your daily life

He asks what hurts most, like walking, stairs, sitting or sleep, so your plan fits your day.

How do my first two visits work?

Visit 1: You fill out your paperwork. Dr. Rob talks with you one on one and does an exam. If Dr. Rob thinks you need them, we take digital X-rays in our office.

Visit 2: Dr. Rob walks you through your X-rays and exam results. He tells you what he found and what he recommends. If you choose to start care, you get your first treatment and your plan.

We use two visits so we find the cause first, then treat it.

What patients say

"I have not felt this good in a very long time!! I am finally sleeping through the night, my all around mood is much better ,and every visit improving my back and hip issues!!"

Becca C., Google review, August 2023

"I thought I was going to need hip replacement because of the pain I was in but after X-rays the culprit turned out to be by spine"

When should I go to the ER instead?

Go to the emergency room if you cannot walk or put weight on your leg after a fall. Go if your leg looks twisted or out of place. Go if your hip is red, hot and swollen, especially with a fever. Go if you suddenly lose control of your bladder or bowels, or feel numbness in your groin. These signs need care right away.
